Four PDT Lawyers participated in the Fidelity and Surety Law Committee’s Mid-Winter Meeting last week in Austin, TX. Matt Davis Co-Chaired a day-long program with multiple panels that addressed the latest developments of surety claim handling and strategies to mitigate loss. Ty Thompson moderated a panel discussion regarding the Anti-Assignment Act, Contract Disputes Act, Tucker Act, Anti-Deficiency Act, Buy American Act, and Federal Acquisition Regulations, and other federal laws of which a surety should be aware. Nathan Diehl moderated a panel discussion titled, “Saddling Up Early: The High-Stakes Rodeo of Pre-Claim Surety Assistance.” Brett Divers participated on a panel focused on defraying losses through recoveries against commercial general liability policies and subcontractor default insurance.
